A rare and truly wonderful Jugendstil necklace by Heinrich Levinger dating to the Art Nouveau period.
The necklace features a silver butterfly at its centre with beautiful green plique-á-jour glass wings with an opal cabochon body and three little fresh water pearl drops hanging from the wings.
The necklace is marked 'Depose' on the base of the butterfly and remains attached to its original silver chain. It is made from a continental silver, most likely '935' grade.
Please note that in picture two the clasp has been adjusted to sit a little higher on the neck than the actual length of the necklace.
The necklace is in good antique condition.
